WTF Friday

I had an entirely different title for today's post, but then the day just kept getting worse and here I am.

The day started with me being woken up at 6. 6 AM on the one day I get to sleep in this week. After very explicit instructions about not waking me up.

Then the Princess started up. She was in rare form, mocking me when I spoke (if I gave the Old Man a request, she mocked me). Then she threw something at the Old Man, which didn't go over well and he started screaming like a banshee. This woke up the dogs, one of whom has a satellite dish collar on because he just got neutered.

This was all before 6:30 and I distinctly remember looking at the clock and wondering if anyone would notice if I had a drink. Just a quick nip.

Then I lost it. The kids were fighting all through breakfast, the dog was being a PIA (he wants to get in the pool so bad and just doesn't get why he can't) and I yelled. It wasn't one of my best moments. This was after yesterday, where I was the prime example of a patient mother.

Then we had to go to the store. I took Puppy (a 6 month old, 73 pound St. Weiler) to the bathroom 4 times before we went. F O U R. You see, he hadn't, well, you know, gone #2 since the surgery. The way my day was going, I knew he needed to go. But he didn't.

Guess what happened?

I opened my door after returning home from a decent trip to the grocery store (the meds kicked in - BIG difference!) and almost tossed my cookies on the doorstep. The smell was so foul, I am sitting here, an hour later with the windows open and the a/c blasting (it's almost 100) because it STILL stinks to high hell.

When I went to get the dog out of the laundry room, I moved the steaming pile with the bottom of the door (it was a great visual) then Puppy stepped in it and dragged it down the hall. I wanted to collapse in tears right there, but couldn't, you know, because there was poo.

Now, it's still not even 11 and I'm wondering if I can just add a little something to my Coke. Like a bottle of rum...

UPDATE - So, I put him in the bathroom and he peed a lake. Get to clean that up now.

UPDATE 2 - So, after I cleaned that up, I took him out several times, let him play then brought him in to eat. I turned to get a paper towel and he peed on the carpet. I took him out and got a splinter in my toe. Un-freekin-believable!!!!!
